HEAD WITH FIGURE - Ensemble of various materials, composed of a helmet-shaped head, a full face with almond-shaped eyes and a wide smile of incised teeth, surmounted by a small standing anthropomorphic figure. On the edge, remnants of a very degraded organic lacework fringe persist; matte patina with abrasions, cracks, and minor losses, mounted on a base. The combination of the helmet with a figurative superstructure and exposed teeth, combined with the eye design, may approximate the sculptural tradition of southeastern Nigeria; the attribution cannot be confirmed by photographs alone.
