Bidspirit auction | SCULPTURAL COMPOSITION

SCULPTURAL COMPOSITION - Sculpture cast in metal alloy, composed of a frusto-conical base in the shape of a head, with an elongated nose, half-closed eyes, a rectangular toothed mouth, and ears curled into volutes. From the top rises a small column with small side rings supporting a standing figure, with an elongated body, hands to the chest, and a crest-like hairstyle. Dark patina, with shine on the reliefs and finely worked texture. The ensemble, due to the mask-like face, the toothed mouth, and the small upper figure, may resemble the sculptural tradition of West Africa; this attribution is merely stylistic and cannot be confirmed solely by photographs.
