Bidspirit auction | ANTHROPOMORPHIC FIGURE

ANTHROPOMORPHIC FIGURE - Anthropomorphic terracotta figure, with a frontal and compact posture, with hands raised to chest level and palms facing forward. Carefully modeled face with dotted triangular scarifications, almond-shaped eyes, and a segmented hairstyle; necklace around the neck and a skirt with incised geometric motifs. Light surface with darkened accents and a heterogeneous patina that highlights the relief and expression. By the combination of elements, it may resemble the sculptural tradition of Central Africa, a hypothesis not confirmable solely by photographs.
