Bidspirit auction | ANNULAR PIECE

ANNULAR PIECE - Annular wooden piece, with a low and slightly bulging body, with a wide central opening. The surface has a dark and smoothed patina, with incised diagonal friezes defining triangular motifs near the edges, punctuated by small regularly spaced circular elements. The ensemble reveals a balance of volumes and controlled carving work on the edges. Due to the continuous geometric incisions and the massive construction, it may resemble the sculptural tradition of certain regions of Central Africa, a hypothesis that cannot be confirmed solely by photographs.
