HEAD - Terracotta head with naturalistic volumes, with the face entirely covered by fine vertical striations and small incised dots, prominent eyes with marked eyelids and a closed mouth. The neck displays sculpted rings and the base shows a perforation suggesting an old fastening system. Surface with irregular patina in reddish-brown tones, showing wear and firing marks. Due to the detailed treatment of the face and the cervical rings, it may be close to the sculptural tradition of Ife; this hypothesis cannot be confirmed by photographs alone.
