STANDING FIGURE - Anthropomorphic terracotta figure, standing on an oval base, large-proportioned head with an incised crest and half-closed eyes; hands rest on the cheeks next to ear discs, mouth ajar with visible teeth. The torso exhibits incised scarification in concentric circles, marked sex, rigid legs, and ankles with rings, showing a grey patina with wear on prominent points. Due to the treatment of the skull, ear expanders, and abdominal scarifications, it may approach the sculptural tradition of Central Africa, with affinities to the Luba–Chokwe universe, a hypothesis that cannot be confirmed by photographs alone.
