Bidspirit auction | ANTHROPOMORPHIC FIGURE

ANTHROPOMORPHIC FIGURE - Anthropomorphic figure in terracotta, with compact volumes and a matte ocher tone. Stylized face with perforated eyes and V-shaped eyebrows, prominent nose; neck with rings, arms parallel to the body and annular incisions on the torso and limbs; frontal posture with one leg bent, on a small cylindrical base. Uniform patina with small chips and cracks. The set of features — perforated eyes, ringed neck, and cylindrical base — may suggest a connection to the Middle Niger (Bura) sculptural tradition, although such attribution cannot be confirmed by photographs alone.
