VASE WITH FIGURE - Terracotta sculpture composed of a globular vase with fine herringbone incisions and an anthropomorphic figure seated on top, with bent legs, one hand resting on the chin and the other on the knee. The face features prominent annular eyes, a crested nose and dotted marks on the arms and ankles, under a small headdress. Matte surface, in brownish and grayish tones, with a homogeneous patina; a small opening visible at the junction with the figure. Due to the integration of the figure into the vessel, the hieraticization of the body and the incised decoration, it may approximate the sculptural tradition of West Africa, a hypothesis not confirmable by photographs alone.
