Bidspirit auction | SEATED FIGURE

SEATED FIGURE - Terracotta figure representing a seated person, with bent legs and hands resting on the knees. Marked features with perforated eyes, mustache, and small beard; tall conical hairstyle in three levels and a profusion of collars and armbands with ribbed rings. Orange-brown surface, matte texture, and homogeneous patina; small flaws and chips, noting loss on the right arm. Due to the stepped hairstyle, perforated eyes, and ringed jewelry, it may approach the Nok sculptural tradition; however, this hypothesis cannot be confirmed solely by photographs.
