Bidspirit auction | ANTHROPOMORPHIC SCULPTURE

ANTHROPOMORPHIC SCULPTURE - Piece in various materials, with a frontal composition, featuring a stylized head crowned by a semicircular crest and lateral flaps; elongated face, carved eyes, and oval mouth, highlighted by geometric incisions and dark patina. Striated neck resting on a body reduced to an open rhomboid, with flattened planes and engraved texture, creating strong graphic appeal. The ensemble, currently supported on a red textile base, may be close to the sculptural tradition of reliquary guardians, due to the combination of the rhomboid, the crest, and the linear treatment of the face; a hypothesis not confirmable by photographs alone.
