ANTHROPOMORPHIC FIGURE - Vertical anthropomorphic figure in metal alloy, with very elongated proportions and a hieratic posture. The voluminous upper head displays a crest, perforated ears, and an open circular mouth; the torso is treated as a rhomboid plaque with an oval face in low relief. Thin arms and narrow legs end in broad feet with marked toes, showing an irregular dark patina, with smoothed areas on the protrusions. Due to its stylized features — extreme elongation, plaque-torso with an incised mask, and accentuation of the head — it may be close to the sculptural tradition of the Dogon; this hypothesis is only stylistic and cannot be confirmed by photographs.
