Bidspirit auction | STANDING FIGURE

STANDING FIGURE - Human figure in metal alloy, standing, with a slender torso, elongated neck, and a head with prominent circular ears; face with a tapered nose, slightly open mouth, and discreet incisions on the cheeks. The arms hang close to the body, the hip is marked by a ring, and the robust legs end in trapezoidal feet, with a slight asymmetry in posture. Dark and homogeneous patina, with luster on the protrusions and small signs of wear. Due to the schematic modeling and casting technique, it presents characteristics that may refer to West African sculptural traditions, a hypothesis not confirmable by photographs alone.
