Bidspirit auction | MASK

MASK - Wooden mask of oval shape, with marked volumes: bulbous cheeks, button eyes and an elongated nose forming a crest, above an open rhomboidal mouth. The surface shows a matte patina with marked craquelure and areas of wear, accentuating the irregular texture. The lower edge exhibits a series of perimeter perforations indicating a previous fastening system. An ensemble of contained expression and robust sculptural presence.
