Bidspirit auction | PLAQUE WITH HANDLE

PLAQUE WITH HANDLE - Wooden piece with fibers and fabric, composed of a thick oval plaque with a rim of triangular incisions and a central relief motif of triangular geometry, punctuated by small appendages. The handle terminates in an anthropomorphic head with an elongated face, half-closed eyes, and a stepped conical hairstyle; the 'neck' features rings wrapped in fibers. Surface with a matte patina in shades of gray and brown, showing consistent wear. Due to the stylization of the face and hairstyle, it may approximate the sculptural tradition of the Ivory Coast region (Baule/Senufo), a hypothesis that cannot be confirmed by photographs alone.
