Bidspirit auction | SEATED MALE FIGURE

SEATED MALE FIGURE - Seated male figure, in terracotta, with hands resting on the knees and well-defined feet. Face with half-closed eyes, discreet scarifications and a slight smile; hairstyle with two lateral rolls and a central crest. Annular necklaces on the neck, ornamented waist, bracelets and marked genitalia; compact volumes and light-toned surface with wear and small incrustations. Based on the set of necklaces, the posture in the integrated seat, and the hairstyle, it may be associated with the sculptural tradition of West Africa, a hypothesis that cannot be confirmed solely by photographs.
