Bidspirit auction | DOUBLE HEAD

DOUBLE HEAD - Wooden sculpture with a double janiform head, set on a cylindrical base atop a square plinth. The faces, with synthetic features and prominent lips, reveal black and white polychromy with a distinct patina and areas of wear. At the top, an asymmetrical curvilinear crest adds dynamism to the piece and accentuates the play of volumes. The janiform typology and contrasted polychromy may allude to Central African traditions, without definitive attribution.
