Bidspirit auction | FEMALE FIGURE

FEMALE FIGURE - Female anthropomorphic figure carved in wood with fibers and fabric, with a frontal posture and compact volumes, with hands resting on the prominent belly. Geometrically drawn face with a frontal crest and half-closed eyes; on the abdomen, an hourglass-shaped scarification with traces of pigment, accompanied by a very worn fabric skirt. Surface with heterogeneous patina, blackened areas, and visible abrasions. It presents characteristics that may allude to Central African traditions, due to the frontality, the cylindrical neck, and the geometric body markings.
