Bidspirit auction | STATUETTE

STATUETTE - Anthropomorphic figure in metal alloy, standing on a circular base, with hands on hips, elongated body, and ringed neck. The disproportionate head displays a frontal face with incised marks and a large crest headdress with zoomorphic elements, enriched by stippling and small rivets. Relief adornments — necklace, bracelets, and belt — and rhythmic texture confer a strong sculptural presence, with a uniform dark brown patina. It presents characteristics that may allude to West African productions, due to the hieratic frontality, facial markings, and emphasis on the headdress.
