Bidspirit auction | FIGURATIVE PLAQUE

FIGURATIVE PLAQUE - Wooden sculpture composed of a trapezoidal plaque, the front worked with fine incisions and an X motif, revealing a brown patina with light reserves. At the top, an anthropomorphic figure stands out with marked volumes and a tall hairstyle, holding an emerging head in front; the side displays a serrated rack and there is a lower extension. The piece exhibits characteristics that may refer to door locks possibly related to the Dogon of Mali, due to the combination of the engraved plaque, lateral serration, and figurative crowning.
