Bidspirit auction | ELONGATED FIGURE

ELONGATED FIGURE - Anthropomorphic wooden figure, summarily carved and with marked verticality. Triangular head with pendulous lateral appendages and incised eyes, elongated neck, oval torso with arms attached, and a hollowed lower section forming U-shaped legs. Dark brown surface, irregular patina with tool marks and drying cracks. It exhibits characteristics that may refer to West African productions, possibly related to Mumuye, due to the geometric stylization, head with lateral projections, and the use of void between the legs.
