Bidspirit auction | FEMALE FIGURE

FEMALE FIGURE - Anthropomorphic female figure in wood, with bent knees and well-marked toes, arms hanging by the body. The head, with accentuated volume, features a striated crest hairstyle with a superior perforation; geometric face and almond-shaped eyes. Torso with remnants of fabric and incised motifs, darkened patina, and an evident vertical crack. It exhibits characteristics that may refer to Central African traditions, due to the cranial emphasis, the hairstyle, and the treatment of the feet.
