Bidspirit auction | FEMALE FIGURE

FEMALE FIGURE - Anthropomorphic female figure sculpted in wood, standing on a circular base, with a frontal posture and arms close to the body. Globose head with hollowed eyes and rectangular mouth; pointed chest and an incised diamond motif on the abdomen. Surface with brown patina, chisel marks, and small fissures, enhancing the wood's texture. Characteristics may suggest a connection to Central African traditions, due to the static frontality, geometric simplification of features, and abdominal scarifications.
