Bidspirit auction | SCULPTURAL GROUP

SCULPTURAL GROUP - Sculptural group in metal alloy representing three elongated figures mounted on an animal with slender legs and a coiled snout. The riders display conical fluted helmets, prominent eyes, and molded adornments, including a spiral disc on the chest; one holds a horn, suggesting a processional scene. Surface with dark brown patina, with polished sheen and localized wear on the protuberances, evidencing rhythmic volumes and relief ribs that evoke harnesses and belts. It exhibits characteristics that may refer to Dhokra productions from central India, such as the filiform figures, spiral applications, and cord work.
