Bidspirit auction | ELONGATED FIGURE

ELONGATED FIGURE - Anthropomorphic wooden sculpture, with accentuated verticality, long, dangling arms, hollowed legs, and a stylized face with circular eyes, a thin mouth, and a central crest flanked by volutes. Surface marked by incised geometric motifs and a dark patina with areas of wear that evidence the touch of time. The formal synthesis, the elongation of proportions, and the chevron engraving may suggest productions from West Africa, possibly related to Dogon or Senufo cultures.
