Bidspirit auction | HOLLOWED SCULPTURE

HOLLOWED SCULPTURE - Wooden sculpture of great verticality, resting on a bulging base, with a ringed neck supporting a hollowed diamond-shaped body and culminating in a head with a fan-shaped headdress and a geometrically simplified face. Dark patina surface, with light highlights that emphasize edges and volumetric rhythms. Due to its formal elements — open diamond, ringed neck, and fan-shaped head — it may approach traditions from Gabon, possibly related to the aesthetic universe of the Kota people.
