Bidspirit auction | KNEELING FIGURE

KNEELING FIGURE - Anthropomorphic figure cast in metal alloy, in a kneeling pose with one leg advanced and the other bent; one arm is raised near the head holding a small volume, while the other is broken, revealing a spike. The face exhibits almond-shaped eyes, a small mouth, and vertical incisions evoking scarifications; chest with a necklace and prominent belly. Surface with dark patina, brownish nuances, and wear on the protrusions. Due to the emphasis on the head, the posture, and the facial incisions, it presents characteristics that may refer to West African productions.
