Bidspirit auction | SQUATTING FIGURE

SQUATTING FIGURE - Anthropomorphic figure in wood, with compact volume and disproportionate head, with half-closed eyes and prominent nose. The body exhibits bent arms with hands resting on the hips and legs in a squatting position on a circular base. Surface with irregular patina, rough texture and carving marks, with traces of a pendant around the neck. Due to its geometric simplification and facial expressiveness, it presents characteristics that may refer to Central African traditions.
