MATERNITY - Figurative wooden sculpture, depicting a seated female figure holding a child on her lap. Compact and frontal volumes, oval face with slit eyes, pronounced nose and high hairstyle with geometric incision; cubic base with carved lozenges. Irregular brown patina, with areas smoothed by handling that accentuate the surfaces. It presents characteristics that may refer to Central African traditions, possibly related to the Congo region, where maternal compositions are recurrent.
