Bidspirit auction | STATUETTE

STATUETTE - Human figure in metal alloy, with an elongated body and marked frontality, with a broad head, half-closed eyes, and an open mouth. The torso exhibits prominent nipples, a V-shaped necklace, and a belt, while the arms descend alongside the body with hands over the lower abdomen; smooth legs end in tapered feet. Surface with irregular dark patina and small areas of oxidation. The modeling and idealized proportions present characteristics that may refer to West African productions, such as the use of adornments and the hieratic pose.
