Bidspirit auction | STATUETTE

STATUETTE - Anthropomorphic standing figure, with compact volume and prominent head, made of wood with fibers and fabric. Face with elongated eyes and full lips under an incised diadem; hands near the chest and belly with a carved diamond motif. Brown patina with polished areas and old inlays, showing wear and small losses, especially in the nasal area; massive feet with marked toes. It presents characteristics that may refer to Central African traditions, due to abdominal scarification, frontality, and head proportions.
