Bidspirit auction | FEMALE FIGURE

FEMALE FIGURE - Small anthropomorphic wooden sculpture, representing an erect female figure, hands on the belly, oval face with elongated eyes and a conical headdress perforated at the top. Compact volumes, marked breasts, and a diamond scarification pattern on the abdomen; solid base with an opening between the legs. Irregular dark brown patina, with visible areas of wear and inlays. The combination of the headdress, almond-shaped eyes, and emphasis on scarification may refer to West-Central African productions.
