Bidspirit auction | ELONGATED FIGURE

ELONGATED FIGURE - Anthropomorphic figure with a vertical stance and marked synthesis, with arched and elongated legs, narrow torso, and openwork arms close to the body; tapered head with minimal features. Darkened surface with irregular patina and warm nuances, highlighting the grain; on the lower limbs, bandages combining fibers and fabric add contrast and rhythm. Made of wood with fibers and fabric, it shows a dynamic between solids and voids and a restrained presence. The emphasis on proportions and negative space may refer to sculptural universes of West Africa, without definitive attribution.
