Bidspirit auction | KNEELING FIGURE

KNEELING FIGURE - Anthropomorphic wooden figure, kneeling and holding a circular container to its chest. Simplified facial features with closed eyes, prominent nose, and a central groove on the head; robust volumes and broad hands define the composition. Heterogeneous patina in honey to brown tones, with signs of wear and small losses, especially on the rim of the container. The genuflecting posture and the cup-bearer motif suggest characteristics that may refer to Central African traditions.
