Bidspirit auction | POLYCHROME MASK

POLYCHROME MASK - Terracotta mask with a heart-shaped face, a whitish surface, and traces of red and brown polychromy. Narrow slit eyes under pronounced eyelids, full painted lips, small circular scarifications on the forehead and cheeks, a pierced nose, and a tapered chin. High striated hairstyle, flanked by red circular earlobes, which enhance the volume. It presents characteristics that may refer to traditions from Gabon, possibly close to the Punu universe, due to the pale face, half-closed gaze, and scarification pattern.
