Bidspirit auction | KARABAKH RUG

KARABAKH RUG - With an original Retail Price (RRP) set at €3,800, this prestigious piece of extreme artistic rarity is presented in rigorously new and unused condition (New Old Stock), preserving its technical label and the customs export lead seal intact. Originating from the prestigious productions of the Soviet era (”Russ”), this example measuring 5.13 m² (2.79 x 1.84 meters) stands out for its very high weaving density of approximately 250,000 knots per m², an exceptional fineness well above the common standard for this region. It is precisely this ultrafine weave, meticulously hand-knotted in 100% wool, that gives a pictorial and fluid definition to its stunning heraldic medallion and rose floral motifs, evoking classical French aesthetics on a contrasting dark background. The rug exhibits absolute physical integrity with vibrant period colors, intact pile, immaculate fringes, and selvages, making it an authentic investment piece and high-end decoration item.
