TURKISH PRAYER RUG ”GUNEY ESKI” - Measuring 1.50 m x 1.03 m (usable area of 1.55 m²), this piece is entirely hand-woven from high-quality lamb's wool on a hand-spun organic wool foundation, knot by knot. The lot is in excellent condition, with the textile structure, selvages, and original fringes perfectly preserved. This authentic prayer rug originates from the prestigious regional typology of Güney (Denizli, Turkey) and is classified as Eski (old/vintage with historical patina). The design features a geometric prayer niche (mihrab) in vibrant crimson red with the Tree of Life motif, framed by a triple polychrome border in shades of green, blue, and cream. On the reverse, it retains the double historical seal and the original certificate of authenticity from the renowned Marionel gallery (Lisbon), which attests to its genuine provenance, with a historical gallery reference price (RRP) of €900.
