SANDU DARIE (Cuba), Painted Sculpture - Painted wood column prototype model by Sandu Darie (Cuban, 1908-1991). Signed ”Darie 71” on underside. Measures about 11-1/2” high. Base has label with information about the piece in Spanish, including the title (”Static Rhythmic Space, Variation 8”), the materials (wood, casein and paper) and a note (”Model for environmental sculpture project”). Comes with letter of authenticity signed by Pedro de Oraa, one of the ”10 Concrete Painters, ” a school which he cofounded with Darie and Lolo Soldevilla.
