Bidspirit auction | Friedrich Bayer Sterling Silver Tea

Friedrich Bayer Sterling Silver Tea Service - George II English sterling silver tea set, including a coffee pot and tea pot, as well as a cream pitcher and milk pitcher. The two pots and the cream pitcher bear the date mark of 1751, and the hallmark for London silversmith William Cripps. The milk pitcher appears to be a later .800 silver add-on piece for the set, as it bears a Freytag (retailer) 800 mark. The sterling pieces weigh 69.3 ozt., and the 800 piece weighs 13.4 ozt. The design differs only slightly from the English pieces. Coffee pot measures 11-1/4” high. Provenance: Obtained from the grandson of artist Dietz Edzard, whose first wife was Emmy Bayer, the granddaughter of Friedrich Bayer Sr. The silver is from the historic family's dinner service. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own. Condition: Some minor wear, but in very nice overall condition. The cream pitcher has a ding on the side and tilts on one slightly bend foot.
