Wilkinson 1854 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword - British officer's sword with brass Gothic hilt pierced with the crowned VR cypher and checkered backstrap. Sharkskin grip with twisted copper wire. Etched Wilkinson blade with royal cipher, floral scrolls, and proof plug with HW inside a six-pointed star. Serial numbered 28103. Sold May 16, 1887, by Wilkinson Sword to Sir William Payn for C.W. Tribe, Esq., as confirmed in the Wilkinson archives letter from 1968 (included). Original scabbard. A rare presentation-linked infantry officer's sword from a notable Victorian administrator. Measures about 42-1/2” long overall in brass scabbard. Fine condition, with some wear as shown in images.
