West Point Cups & Saucers, Gen. Yarborough - From the personal collection of General William P. Yarborough. Fine Wedgwood demitasse set consisting of four blue and white cups with matching saucers, produced for the United States Military Academy at West Point. Each cup is marked 1802 on one side and 1952 on the reverse-commemorating West Point's 150th anniversary. This set was personally presented to Yarborough by Gen. William C. Westmoreland, a fellow West Point graduate and longtime colleague. The two generals were instrumental figures in shaping Cold War-era U.S. military doctrine: Westmoreland as commander of U.S. forces in Vietnam, and Yarborough as a key architect of Special Forces and counterinsurgency strategy. An elegant and deeply personal artifact linking two of the U.S. Army's most influential mid-20th century leaders. Provenance: Consigned by a long-time personal friend of General Yarborough, one who delivered a eulogy at the general's funeral. Unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic, without reservation or time limit. Fine condition. shipping info This item can be shipped in-house.
