WWII Saginaw M1 Carbine .30 Rifle - U.S. M1 Carbine, serial number 3263457, manufactured by Saginaw Steering Gear during World War II. This example features a barrel marked ”UNDERWOOD 7-44” with the Ordnance flaming bomb, indicating July 1944 production. The receiver is marked ”U.S.CARBINE CAL. 30 M1 SAGINAW SG.” Barrel length is approximately 18 inches, with an overall length of 36 inches. The carbine is fitted with a Type 3 barrel band stamped ”AMCO,” a bayonet lug marked ”SA,” an adjustable rear sight, and a lever safetThe walnut stock is marked ”RMC” in the sling well, indicating it was manufactured by Rock-Ola. Additional markings include a circle ”P” over ”T” on the grip bottom and two ”P” proof marks on the front face of the grip. A cartouche is presente right side of the stock-faint but visible. This is an original WWII-issued rifle assembled in mid-1944 with a mix of contractor parts typical of wartime production. One magazine included. Note: Includes high-capacity magazine.
