1940s NC Jeweler's Advertising Wall Clock - Antique wall clock with reverse painted panel advertising ”P.O. Hoffer, Jeweler, A.C.L. Watch Inspector.” Believed to be from the early 1940s. Hoffer ran a jewelry store in Fayetteville, N.C., from at least as far back as that decade (possibly longer), and sold it in the early 1960s. The shop was also an Atlantic Coast Line watch inspector. ACL watch inspectors certified that railroad employees' watches met the accuracy standards required for efficient and safe train operation. Clock works by Ingraham. Face measures about 12” diameter, and case is 38-1/4” high. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own.
