Qing Era Chinese FOUR BEAUTIES Panels - Antique, circa late 19th to early 20th century Chinese art pieces: Four ornate carved wood panels with removable glass fronts. Each panel measures 52” high by 14-1/2” wide, each one with relief figure of one of the Four Great Beauties -- Xi Shi, Diao Chan, Yang Yuhuan and Wang Zhaojun. Each figure is identified with painted characters. The Four Beauties were historical figures honored as having had a profound influence on men of power during their lives. Each figure is carved, polychromed ivory. The back of each panel is ornately decorated as well. Please note: These items are carved from antique, pre-ban African elephant ivory. They can be shipped in-house within Florida or picked up. Prior to bidding, prospective purchasers should familiarize themselves with any local regulations that might affect their ability to receive this lot. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own. Condition One panel is missing glass pane. Minor wear here and there, generally very fine. Figure has no damage.
