Grouping of Early Postal Cancels and Letters - Grouping of early postal cancels and letters. The first is a letter from New Brunswick NJ to Schenectady NY to Mr. James Holland dated 1820. Letter contents are sending money to their son's school for tuition, board, etc.. Includes 37 and a New Brunswick cancel on the envelope. Second is a letter to Samuel Maris who was the NJ State treasurer dated 1849 and invites him to a ”cat skinning”. Was sent from Browns Hill, back street. Has a New Brunswick cancel and 5 stamped on the envelope. The last letter is from a Rutgers student to a Harvard student dated 1847. Has a New Brunswick cancel and 10 stamped on the front. All have discoloration to the paper consistent with age. All invoices must be paid within 24 hours of the sale.
