Pair of large two-handled vases in polychrome majolica, Naples, Gaetano Battaglia, circa 1880 - ovoid body finely painted to respectively depict a battle opposed to a view of one of the temples of Paestum and a scene of Roman history opposed to a view also taken from Paestum; two large handles modeled as a seated satyr supporting a scroll ending in a goat's head; circular foot. A vase signed in Battaglia yellow inside the base, h. cm. 100 (restorations)
