Pair of silver candlesticks, probably Austria-Hungary, late 19th century - stem finely chiselled and embossed to respectively depict a young girl with a bird on her shoulder and a traveler with a stick in his hand; richly embossed circular base, h. cm. 30. Lamp mounted, complete with lampshade.The candlesticks bear a dedication to the opera singer Emma Turolla (Turin 1858 - Milan 1943), a probable gift from the National Theater of Prague where the singer performed in 1894, as it can be seen from the inscription engraved on the profile of the base
