A Pair of Royal Doulton Porcelain Horse Figurines, Desert Orchid and Foal - A Royal Doulton equestrian porcelain group featuring a realistic model of the celebrated British National Hunt racehorse Desert Orchid accompanied by a smaller white foal. The figures are constructed from fine porcelain with a matte finish. The larger horse is decorated with realistic shading and flea-bitten grey markings. Both figures are mounted on a tiered dark wood oval base with a green-flocked top surface. The front of the base features a brass-toned nameplate inscribed with Desert Orchid. The belly of the larger horse bears a printed black factory mark consisting of a lion standing upon a crown above a four-part interlocking logo, encircled by the words Royal Doulton and England.
