Victorian Style Carved Hardwood Folding Side Chair with Damask Upholstery - A single Victorian style folding side chair constructed from dark-stained hardwood. The frame features an X-frame folding mechanism and a crest rail decorated with hand-carved foliate and scroll motifs. The padded seat and backrest are upholstered in a floral damask fabric with a cream and gold ground and pinkish-mauve foliate patterns, bordered by coordinating gimp trim. Construction includes dowels and metal pins at the pivot points, with visible evidence of later screw reinforcements in the seat frame. No maker marks are visible on the frame.
