A Pair of Meito Fruit China Hand Painted Twin Handled Porcelain Vases - This is a matching pair of Japanese porcelain twin-handled vases produced by Meito China for their Fruit China line. Each vase features a baluster-form body with a flared rim, twin scrolled handles, and a circular pedestal foot. The vases are decorated with hand-painted still-life motifs of apples and grapes against a graduated background ranging from bright yellow and green to deep brown. The rims, handles, and base edges are finished with gold gilding. One vase bears a painted artist signature near the base of the fruit motif that reads A. GOL. The underside of the vases features two distinct marks: a circular stamp in green ink with the text HANDPAINTED MADE IN JAPAN encircling a stylized lion head, and the words FRUIT CHINA printed in orange-red ink.
