Vintage Scandinavian Style Metal Viking Longship Model Attributed to Edward Aagaard for Iron Art Copenhagen - This decorative model of a Viking longship, or drakkar, is attributed to the designs of Edward Aagaard for Iron Art Copenhagen, Denmark. The vessel features a stylized cast metal hull with a dark verdigris patina and is decorated with a row of embossed circular shields along both gunwales. The prow is finished with a traditional dragon-head figurehead, mirrored by a scrolled tail-fin stern. A single square sail is fashioned from curved sheet metal, exhibiting alternating vertical bands of copper and brass tones. A central embossed medallion on the sail depicts a spread-winged bird of prey, likely representing an eagle or raven. The ship is rigged with a wooden mast and yard, utilizing fine wire for the stays. The model is presented on a simple two-piece wooden cradle stand. No maker marks, stamps, or inscriptions are visible on the ship or the stand.
